Word Art Studio|Product Photography in Buffalo, NY

Commercial Photography This past Sunday I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Sander, the owner of etsy store WordArtStudio.  Sarah is one of the most talented arts and crafts artisans I have ever met!  Her studio is in a former loft apartment above the living space of her home in Grand Island, NY.  The floor plan is as open and has the most beautiful light coming in from skylights that seem to take up her entire ceiling.  Even on a windy, cold, and rainy day as hurricane Sandy approached, I was more than happy with the quality of sunlight coming in.

Commercial Photography As I worked through shooting her products, Sarah and I spoke about why she chose to primarily paint rocks for a living.  Growing up, Sarah's grandmother had a house on the beach of Lake Erie.  Her grandmother would nap in the afternoon and that is when Sarah would go down to the water and collect rocks and beach glass.  She would sit and paint the rocks for something to do on those lazy summer days.  Her Grandmother's house is still in her family and now she enjoys taking her children down to that same beach to collect an amazing collection of beach glass and gorgeous black rocks.  She has always done this type of arts and crafts and was surprised to find out that people would value her art in such a way.  Anyone who who has seen her work, would be anything but surprised.  She has a true natural talent.

Commercial Photography As I watched Sarah work, I couldn't help but be in awe of her talent for finding proportion and of the smooth, careful strokes she used while working on different hand created fonts for her signage.  Each piece she creates can take from a few minutes to quite a few days.  She agonizes over each piece until she is satisfied.

Commercial Photography The attention to detail and care that Sarah puts into her work makes it very easy to see why she is such a success.  For more information on WordArtStudio or to order from her variety of items, visit http://www.etsy.com/shop/WordArtStudio
