These are some of my favorite things to capture for couples here in Buffalo, NY and all over the United States because they are often so much more than a pair of pretty shoes or cufflinks. These are the items you spent hours and days deciding on so that your big day encapsulated your personalities as a couple. These are centerpieces you and your mom painstakingly made by hand for hours in your garage, they are bouquets and boutonnieres made of the same kind of flower your love brought to you on your first date, and they are your grandmothers pearls. In these small details lie the subtleties of who you are and they are a pivotal role in telling the complete story of your beautiful wedding day.
These items bring you happiness and memories. They are a welcome addition to your wedding album. When the images of these items are put into an album or memory box, they are immortalized. Your grandchildren and great-grandchildren will know exactly what your wedding colors were, what comb you wore in your hair, and what jewelry they will ask to borrow for their own weddings. They will grow up looking through these images and imagining their own wedding day. You are not only saving your own memories in these images, but creating new ones for future generations.

]]>Jessica and Matthew's beautiful winter themed wedding was a mostly DIY affair. The bouquets, boutonnieres, pew decor, and all of the centerpieces were done by hand! This wedding was one that truly brought family together to make the day perfect.
Some of Jessica's Chilean family were able to make the trip to Buffalo, NY to wish the happy couple well and to show off their Salsa dancing skills at the reception!
Samuel's Grand Manor was the perfect setting for this festive event! The staff was fantastic and the venue was tastefully elegant. The chandeliers and classic architecture complemented all of the handmade decor designed by the bride.
This wedding was so much fun. Matthew and Jessica, I wish you many happy years together! Congratulations you two!

From this couple’s mutual love of home cooked meals to their eclectic music tastes, Dan and Kristin are truly meant for each other. On their wedding day they were both only concerned with how the other was feeling and the looks of love shared between them were beautifully genuine.
Dan and Kristin’s day started at their home in North Tonawanda where Kristin was to get ready. Her bridesmaids and future Mother-in-law were all there to help her into her gorgeous gown.
From their home, we traveled to Niagara Falls, NY. I was so happy to be photographing Dan and Kristin in one of my favorite churches, St. Vincent de Paul. It’s beautiful open ceilings and colorful stained glass windows are among the prettiest of the modern churches in our locale.
We traveled to Fort Niagara State Park and to Three Sister’s Island for portraits after the ceremony on this frigid and windy autumn day. Dan and Kristin were troopers and we captured some fantastic images here.
After portraits, we came back to North Tonawanda for the reception at the Knights of Columbus where Banchetti by Rizzo’s put out a delicious meal that everyone raved about!
Dan and Kristin, I was so happy to be a part of the beginning of your lives together. You two deserve many, many happy years!

]]>From The Buffalo Club, we met up with the groom at the Buffalo Seminary. The Buffalo Seminary is one of the earliest founded all girls schools in western New York (1851) and today, still provides an outstanding education available to young women. It was here in the intimate chapel that Nick and Katherine vowed their ever lasting love for each other on October 11th, 2014.
After this beautiful ceremony we were invited to Knox Mansion by the current owner for a portrait session. The owner has meticulously kept the gardens at this historic site and we were so excited to have been invited to photograph in them.
We also visited the Erie Marina Basin during sunset. It was a little chilly for the bridal party, but they gave their all and we made some wonderful images here.
The reception took place at Templeton Landing. Another Buffalo, NY staple. The venue is gorgeous and looks out onto the basin. The service and food is exceptional and suited this couple perfectly.
Nick and Katherine met in grade school and started dating when they both attended Geneseo College. From their love of cooking for each other to their eclectic music tastes, they are perfect partners. The love they share shines in their eyes. When they were together, they were both only concerned with how the other felt and what the other needed.
Nick and Katherine, you are both such a beautiful couple. I wish you many years of happiness and joy in your marriage!

]]>Well this guy put more than a little bit of thought into it! I was recently asked to capture a moment that no woman would ever
want to forget.
This hopeful fiance had the big moment planned months in advance, while his bride-to-be had no idea it was coming. When he went down on one knee, she eased his nerves with a very simple word: "yes". He choose a beautiful spot, Terrapin Point, over-looking Niagara Falls, NY and created a moment that they will treasure forever. The formal session took place after the initial proposal.

]]>This mother, daughter and I came together to discuss their ideal images. We agreed on a two part session: the first being more of a retro/studio/advertisement look and the second (still styled in a retro feel) was more on an organic level and shot outdoors. I enjoy working closely with families to create the perfect stylized sessions. This session captured the personalities and bond that these two share. Eric and Lyndsay's day started in the homes where they grew up. They then held their beautiful ceremony at the church that Lyndsay's parents were married in. The reception was held at the gorgeous Rochester Yacht Club where the food and service was exceptional and the view was phenomenal!
This couple decided on a sparkler exit followed by a trip up the river in Eric's family sailboat.

On September 20th, 2014, two families were brought together by none other than the groom’s father who introduced them after spotting Julieanne working at a local Starbucks. He was so taken with her, he knew she would be perfect for his son, Robert.
This couple has such a loving family. Everyone went out of their way to make sure that Julieanne and Robert had a romantic and perfect fairy tale wedding.
I am so happy for the two of you! I wish you many, many years of bliss!

]]>The best way to preserve a moment in time is through photography.
Lucky for you, that is right up my alley!
My goal while photographing your family session, is to make it unique. I love incorporating the little things that tell
your story. The best way to capture the true essence of your family is to incorporate hobbies, sports, favorite movies,
or shows that ultimately bring your family together. This creates a stylized, finished look that will speak volumes
for coming generations. These sessions aren’t just for you, but for your children, and for your children’s children.
My fondest memories as a child were of visiting my grandparent’s house and thumbing through the ancient photo
albums on the bookshelves. This is proof of where we come from, who we look like, and that we were here.
Your family session will include both classic family portraits and candid moments. Spontaneous and "off guard" images are some of my personal favorites as they will convey your family's true personality.
Let's work together to create your perfect images :)
If you are ready to capture the moment, Contact us today to find out more!
I always start with the hardest shots first and work my way to the new parents holding their little bundle.
This shot is a composite. I took 2 or 3 shots of the bottom of Baby's face (Dad was holding the top of his head) and 2 or 3 of the top. Then I put them together in Photoshop. This is the hardest shot to get and not all infants will cooperate, but this little guy did just fine!
Babies curled up in wraps and hats are some of my personal favorites!

]]>The brand new Mr. and Mrs. Reilly could not be more perfect for each other. From the stolen glances to the words of adoration they would speak to each other, it was very clear that these two were meant to be.
Michael and Jackie's wedding story begins on July 11th with a beautiful rehearsal dinner at Carmelo's Restaurant. The venue was gorgeous. It was dark and romantic, the service and staff were fabulous and had given their all to ensure this beautiful couple had everything they needed to make their night perfect!
Not only was the food fantastic, but chef Carmelo outdid himself with his own special recipe of cherry ice cream! No one could stop talking about it.
The dinner was followed up by a fabulous welcome party at Barton Hill Hotel and Spa. Once again I was taken aback at the stunning beauty of this truly unique boutique hotel. Our lovely couple enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and drinks served by a most efficient and lovely staff on the second floor terrace. It was a beautiful night complete with a stunning sunset over Niagara River. This was such a special way to celebrate our couple before the main event.
Jackie and Michael, your wedding day was filled with beautiful details, surprise bursts into songs, and loving friends and family. These images are just a few of what is to come! I can't wait to share more of Alumni Chapel, and of Niagara Falls Country Club. The architecture and views were just outstanding. Your day was as perfect as you are for each other. I wish all the happiness in the world!

The images below are from a personal project. My beautiful model (Sam) is not a bride, but we shot in much the same way as I would hold a bridal post session. Sam was very accommodating and looked stunning in the vintage (1950's) Priscilla of Boston gown donated by Mrs. Jean Strope. A special Thank you to Mika Photography for all of your help from arranging the model to fixing the dress!

]]>Spring and Autumn are also quite cold. Sweater and cardigans are a great way to shift your look without completely changing your wardrobe.
Summer is my favorite season! I will generally tell clients to dress comfortably and cool. Avoid tops with busy prints or large logos. Avoid clothing with bright neon colors. Baseball hats should stay at home! Visors can create very harsh shadows on the top of the face. Sunglasses are also a no, no. In the summer months, it can be tough to be versatile. Scarfs are too warm, sweaters are out of the question as are coats... Families will normally choose to bring an additional outfit to change into. Summer can be a bit difficult to shoot, but I love the challenge of the harsh sun.
Wardrobes for big extended families is another concern for many clients. I typically stick to the general rules I listed above and beg that the families don't try and match everyone exactly. Complementary colors are great! Sticking to a color family is always pleasing, but when everyone comes in wearing the same outfit, it becomes very distracting.
I have recently had a run of large families I was fortunate to have shot! The Ermer's were so sweet and nice, The Logan's were very active and outgoing, and the Frost family were hilarious and had me laughing the whole time! All of these families made me smile! I am so excited to present these images this week! Enjoy!

]]>When I photograph these tiny new lives, it is usually for brand new parents. I am taken back to the birth of my son every time. I wish I could hug these new moms and dads without seeming weird and tell them that it will be okay. I look into their tired eyes and worried faces and I see what I went through all over again. I want to say "If you're worried you're not doing it right, then you ARE doing it right". Babies cry for a reason when they're newborns. They are hungry, they need a change, they are tired, or their little tummies hurt. Babies are new to this life stuff. They've only been out of utero for a few days and their digestive track is still getting used to it all. There are noises and lights and touch that they are just starting to figure out. It is all scary, some of it hurts, and they are only happy when their parent holds them and walks with them and talks to them.
There is nothing like the bond between a parent and child.
I am always taken aback by the bond I see in families. When two become three and four and five, there is always a new bond and new dynamic. You could have a hundred new babies in your family and each bond will be different and just as strong as the last. A prime example of two parents doing all they can for their princess are the Cobello's. I could tell right away that these two would move mountains for their precious new life. Momma C. had that fierce look behind her eyes when she looked at her angel and daddy C. had such tenderness when he would hold both of his girls. I absolutely love this sweet family.

This week on the blog, I am featuring sweet baby Madison!
Madison is one lucky little girl! She gets to grow up in my old neighborhood! It was so nice to drive back to the streets that I grew up on. Very little had changed in the 15 or so years I had left them. She will have plenty of kids to play with as she grows up and a safe, close knit, community around her.
This baby girl is also lucky enough to be both American and Canadian. She will get to grow up to enjoy the benefits from both of these great countries. I was so excited to shoot on flag backdrops!!

]]>It was raining all day for this couple, but the rain cleared completely as soon as Maer showed up for their ceremony! The sun was brighter than ever and the rain that had collected on the grass and leaves reflected like diamonds in its light.
Maer (an entrepreneur who owns The Hard Rock Quilter ) had a bit of a wedding dress emergency two weeks before the wedding... She ended up having to make her own dress after the mishap with the original gown! I think she did absolutely beautifully! Not only was she completely stunning in this gown, but to have the bragging rights of having made it too is just the cherry on top :)
After their sweet ceremony, Maer's Uncle surprised them with a horse drawn carriage! The carriage ride swept them along to the reception at Schimshack's restaurant, but made a pitstop at the cemetery so Maer could visit her sister's grave. I was proud of myself for not crying.
At Schimshack's, we saw family and friends all over again for a quiet dinner in a gorgeous venue.
James and Maer, it was such a pleasure meeting you both. I wish you many beautiful years of happiness!

]]>Brett opens his book with "The Journey". He briefly explains his process and outlines the book before jumping right into Engagements.
In the engagement section of this book, Brett explains his careful research for the clients and goes on to explain that meeting with them before your engagement session is essential to gaining client trust and in making them more comfortable. He outlines his entire shoot with gorgeous photographs illustrating where his inspiration came from to his finished product. Brett even goes as far as giving his reasons for his album layout design with illustrated examples.
From engagements we go hour by hour into a couples wedding day. Brett takes us on a journey into his thought processes, planning, and execution. He shares his camera setting information, his reasons for positioning poses, and teaches how to bring fashion photography lighting and posing into our own weddings.
When the wedding day is over, Brett takes us with him to shoot a post session! We see learn the importance of such a session for the couple and we step by step instruction in planning and adding these to the couples album with a flow that continued from the wedding day.
Brett closes the book by showing us his spreads for the wedding album. He is thorough in his how's and why's and teaches us the most dynamic way to display the clients images. He explains the differences in a parent book from a client book. He even goes as far as making each bridal party member their own mini books customized with their own view of the wedding.
Brett Florens is a master at his craft and I enjoyed this book immensely. It is a terrific companion to his recent CreativeLive class which can be found here: http://www.creativelive.com/courses/high-fashion-high-end-wedding-photography-brett-florens . I especially love his unique posing techniques. Large groups have always been a trouble area for me, but Brett's techniques were so interesting that I have a renewed excitement for family formals at my next wedding!
Brett Florens book can be bought in paperback on Amazon ad Barnes and Noble right now! If you are looking for an interesting and new way to view wedding photography, I highly recommend this read!

A six month session is so much different than a newborn session. At six months, babies are alert and ready to party. Their attention spans are short and constant entertainment is needed to get them to look and smile where you need them. They are not the sleepy, content infants from a few short months ago.
It is so important to document these first few months in your growing baby's life. Time slips by so fast. Even if it's making sure you get your iPhone out once a week or printing your own little photo books online, you will want these memories to last forever.

These sessions take a special kind of person. The person in question needs to be willing to go just a little beyond her normal comfort level to get the images she is working towards. Images that will be amazing and the most beautiful she has ever had.
These images are usually intended for a significant other. An album will make a fabulous anniversary present. Images captured in bridal lingerie makes the most sexy pre-wedding gift. You can also celebrate a special occasion with your sweetie as a couples session!

]]>As women we hide from anyone with a camera. We're afraid someone might catch our bad side, or that we put on a few pounds and wouldn't want anything to remind us that we've been skipping the gym lately. I find this happening more and more often to me. My kids are going to look back at all our family pictures one day and I will be missing.
We all owe it to our kids to have pictures of ourselves. Our kids don't care if we put on a few pounds, or if we were caught at a strange angle in the camera. Our kids want to show their grandchildren who we were someday. We can't wait until we're the perfect size. In our children's eyes, we are perfect now and they deserve to have proof that we existed.

Of all the portraits and candids you'll have taken on your day, the portraits of you and your partner are the most important. It's so easy to get carried away with all of the details while your wedding progresses. You'll want pictures with Grandma, pictures with your bridal party, and of course your extended family, but don't lose sight of why everyone is here. Your family and friends have gathered in one place to watch you and your soul mate express an undying love for the rest of your lives. The day that you have put so much work into planning is here and is about you and the love of your life.

]]>To start the week off, Meg asked that the group submit three images for her to critique. The images I submitted were chosen very carefully. These were images that I was in love with, but that I knew had something missing from. I chose the three images that I was most protective of because I needed to get the most out of Meg's critique. I needed to hear what I was missing in what I was trying to achieve.
After the group submitted our images we were asked a few questions. How were we feeling when we took these? How were our subjects feeling? What were we trying to achieve? After a few back and forth conversations, my assignment was given. I was to photograph my daughter in the snow! I was so excited! I wanted to use all of the information I received from Meg and really do everything I could with it. I wanted to get past and work through my weaknesses and really play to my strengths as well.
I picked my daughter up from school and was prepping her for our afternoon in the car when it started to rain. "OK" I said, "I can work with rain." Then the heavens opened and we started to get snow! Great big fluffy white snow! "Awesome!" I said to myself. "This is perfect!" I got my daughter into her dress and was brushing her hair when the snow turned to freezing rain and sleet. In 20 minutes, my shoot was ruined.
I wrote to Meg and told her what happened. She was so sweet and allowed for more time. I decided that if the weather was still bad, I would figure something out.
The next day started out much like the first. It was sunny and 35° (a heat wave for us Buffalonians) and although the snow has mostly melted from the ground and looked dirty and muddy, I figured I could fix it in post. I picked my daughter up from school and began telling her the plan when it started to get dark (like night dark) and the rain started again... I wasn't letting her outside in the rain because she was getting over a cold, so here is what I came up with...

My experience during this workshop was nothing but positive. I was in awe of Meg Bitton's simple, but thought provoking questions. I loved the caring way she handled everyone's questions. Meg knew that our images were a part of us, and took great care with her words in her critiques. I was terrified when I started this workshop. I had never done a critique before and the thought of someone telling me my work may not be worth the paper it's printed on scared me to my core. Now, I can't wait to do it again! Meg Bitton helped me tear down that wall that was holding me away from open criticism and I can't thank her enough. I am going to work very hard to improve daily in my photography and hopefully Join Meg again in an in-person workshop this time. It is a new goal to work towards and I look forward to the journey there :)

In honor of Cailin's 7th birthday, I decided to dedicate my blog post to a girl I adore :)

You look like royalty, you have all of your best friends and family around you, you said "I do" in front of a room full of people, and now you have your significant other by your side for the remainder of the day and for the rest of your life. What could be better?! These images are all about you as a couple, your bridal party, and your first dance :)

]]>There are so many different ways in which people have marriage ceremonies. I love them all! The long and quiet ceremonies are traditional and romantic. The short and sweet ceremonies are fun and casual. And of course each couple puts their own little twist into whatever ceremony they choose, so every one is different.
I just adore watching two people in love declare their love for each other in whatever way they choose. I never fail to get choked up at the "I do" :)

]]>This will be a three part BLOG featured on my website. Part one, Getting Ready! I love getting ready images. The look of nervousness in the faces of both the bride and the groom thrills me every time. I love makeup being applied, shoes being tied, jewelry being put into place, and ties being adjusted. I love the bridal party's excitement about what the day will bring. I love that friends and family stop in for a quick check on the bride and groom to see if anything is needed. The whole process is exhilarating!
Enjoy!

]]>So, 2014, Here I Come! I have so many ideas and things I want to do this year. In-person workshops are at the top of my list closely followed by getting in front of the camera, giving fine art a shot, and trying my best to get published somewhere. I will actually submit my work this year (maybe) :)
As I was thinking about all of this renewal, I wondered how I would express this in a blog... hmmmm... Well with Babies of Course! First up, Baby Claire! How adorable is she??

Whenever I shoot a home session, I like to look at the client's decor. I find color schemes and take a peek of what photographs are already displayed. Christine and her husband love purple (who doesn't), and they had a few black and white images up. When I edited this one, I took the purple tone straight from their bedding and infused it with the gradient map.

When Christine contacted me about our session, "Glam" was said more than once. This girl is all sparkles and frill! I love it! I made sure I brought my fan to blow her hair around. I adore how this came out.

]]>Doctors, nurses, newborn websites, and midwifes will all tell you some very interesting things about newborns. Along with their eyes not being able to focus very well, and the fact that most of their day is spent sleeping, they can also sense their mothers. If mom is nearby, the baby will know, will wake up, and will look for food, whether they are hungry or not! This makes photographing other people’s babies difficult. Mothers want and need to be near their precious cargo. It is very hard to let a stranger come into your house, hold your baby, pose your baby, and listen to the suggestion of maybe having dad nearby instead.
BoySleeping in his Father's uniform
In my first attempt at this new genre, I was a little apprehensive. I did not want to try anything too difficult and if something wasn’t quite working, I moved on to something else rather than stress the baby or mom out. This experience helped me figure out who I am in newborn photography. I feel comfortable around newborns. I can get them back to being calm (if not asleep) with no problem. They smell so sweet and I love their squishy little cheeks. Newborns are sweet and cute no matter what, so they make the perfect little models.
I certainly hope I get to photograph a few more infants soon!

]]>After I carefully studied what past artists had done with pin-up art, I put my girls to work. I found the early years of Charles Dana Gibson fascinating, but not quite what I was looking for. My inspiration came from people like Earle K. Bergey, Olivia De Berardinis, and of course Irving Klaw.
Although the girls and I didn’t get as sexy as some of these past artists, I think we were able to portray beauty and class with an edge. That was the point.
Women who posed for these types of portraits were breaking the rules and making life a little easier for future generations. The models of past generations, usually did these sessions for the money (which was very little). They weren’t after fame or glory, and in most cases didn’t think of themselves as feminists. The art was objectified by soldiers, teenagers, old men, and fathers. It was panned as pornography by more “moral” women. However, without these early pioneers, I can’t help thinking, what would facebook look like today? Would women be ashamed of their bodies? Would we, as a society, have more reservations about sex? What would our dance clubs look like?
This is my conservative take on Pin-Up art. I am planning a 20’s session for the fall right now! If you are interested in getting in on this next shoot, send me an email! My address can be found at www.ciaobellaimages.com . The full Pin-Up gallery can be found at http://www.ciaobellaimages.com/pinup

I love watching dancers even today. I love seeing the body move fluidly and muscles stretch and flex. Our bodies are miraculous and I am always amazed at the results of discipline and dedication.
My dear friend Krista agreed to let me try to capture her spirit while she danced. She is dance. My friend never slouches or scuffs her feet. She walks upright and exudes grace with every step. She is spectacular!
To touch, to move, to inspire. This is the true gift of dance. - Aubrey Lynch-- http://aubreylynch.com/
Dancing faces you towards Heaven, whichever direction you turn. - Terri Guillemets
While I dance I can not judge, I can not hate, I can not separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance. - Hans Bos
Dancing is the loftiest, the most moving, the most beautiful of the arts, because it is not mere translation or abstraction from life; it is life itself. - Havelock Ellis

Shooting my own kids is a completely different animal altogether. When mom is a photographer, the camera comes out constantly. Kids who are used to having a camera around will be themselves in front of it more quickly than a child who only sees it at birthdays and holidays. This is a great side effect! However, because I’m Mom and not a stranger, they need to be in the mood to have their picture taken or else they run and hide… I need to be on my toes to get the shots I hope for.

I have been trying to complete a personal project for a while now. And thought I'd tie it in with this great contest opportunity!
I needed to get out and shoot for me. I wanted to take chances and step outside my comfort zone to try to create something that I had never really done before. I wanted bright, saturated colors and lots of texture. Sure, I could have driven around taking pictures of backgrounds and Photoshop-ed a model in afterward, but I wanted something organic.
The day was rainy. We were not sure if we would even fit an hour in, but we caught the weather perfectly! We watched the radar, left for downtown right after storm #1 hit and shot before storm #2 rolled in.
We shot this in the late afternoon. Almost nobody was around. It was perfect!
Here are the results.

It is themed toward kids under 10 and full of exciting things for young minds. The business is welcoming to all, but stands out by accommodating families with children who have special needs as well as their siblings. Owner of Sweet Charlottes, Molly Pitman, has taken great pride in picking activities and toys that focus on sensory play for children with autism to hold their interest.
Molly offers birthday party planning for every budget, a drop-off service for busy moms, a beautiful selection of hand crafted goods from people in the local community, and a sweet shop!! What’s more is that a portion of all proceeds go to Autism Awareness!

On the night I was asked to visit, Sweet Charlottes was packed with people waiting to hear what author Carrie Cariello had to say about her book “What Color is Monday?”

Before the signing, refreshments were served and Carrie was chatting with all the families that showed up for the event. Some she knew from when she and her family had lived in Buffalo and some were new faces. While the adults talked amongst themselves, kids were encouraged to play and pick out gummy candy from the sweet shop wall.
When the time had come for the main event, owner of Sweet Charlottes, Molly Pitman, stood and introduced Carrie to the audience. Molly explained that she and Carrie had just met, but had such similarities in their stories about living with Autism, that they could speak to each other for hours.
When Carrie stood and read from her book, she had brought tears to the eyes of everyone in the room. Almost everyone who was in attendance that night, had a direct connection with Autism and through her words, their stories were brought to life.
The Q&A session at the end of the reading was what I found most enlightening.
So many Moms seemed to be getting answers to the questions that none but another mother in their situation could answer. It was a truly amazing experience. My eyes were opened to a world I had not had very much exposure to in the past. I feel that Carrie’s story is something everyone who has been touched by autism should read.

Ongoing for the last month, I have had the good fortune to photograph the work of the very talented Julie Muscato Interior Design http://www.juliemuscatointeriors.com/. I cannot begin to express my awe over the beautiful rooms that have been created by this talented decorator and her staff.
Each piece of furniture is lovingly chosen to suit each client individually. Of these pieces, Julie mixes the old with the new that gives each room a truly unique flair. The new pieces that are chosen are of the upmost quality, the antiques are often stripped down, refinished, and reupholstered to create a brand new look and work with her clients’ distinctive taste.
Along with personal homes, Julie’s clientele also include business offices. Her talent for modern art is unparalleled. Her attention to detail is exceptional. The smallest details do not get over looked. I was absolutely taken aback at the beauty in this very structured design.
Julie also takes great pride in her flooring choices. From Persian rugs to refinished hardwood, she chooses carefully with her client in mind and still keeps her signature intact.
Lighting is key in any design. Track lighting, recessed lighting, chandeliers, wall sconces, and accent lamps all play a role in setting the tone and mood of each room designed by Julie Muscato. I personally loved the whimsical pieces she chooses best!
Her knack for the classic and grand pieces becomes the focal point of any Victorian style design.
Each client is different. Each client needs to be comfortable in their own home. Julie recognizes this and is conscience of this in each room she painstakingly plans.

]]>We were trying to get to Becker Farms and Vizcarra winery http://www.beckerfarms.com/ to photograph a wine tasting and then go to a ruined mill up the road. We got lost on our way there and ended up at Olcott Beach! I have never been here before. Although I hear about the pirate festival they host every year, I have never actually gotten in the car and made the journey north. It. Was. Amazing!
Olcott is filled with picture perfect scenes. The lighthouse is adorable.
The boardwalk is super cute. I am in love with the brightly painted shops!
Then there were these stairs!
An hour and a half later, we got back into the car and made it to Becker Farms. The bartender was amazing and really knew her stuff! She also pointed us in the direction of the mill!
This place was something out of a story book! We had to hike a little bit, but I think the pictures were well worth it.
I’m dying to go back again!
]]>I will be taking nominations for a family who you think would appreciate this gift of memories. The session will take place sometime after the new year. Email me your nominations to [email protected] including a brief message on who you’re nominating and the reason you’d love them to get this. The family chosen will be contacted via email, so please include that as well! I’ll be taking them anytime. I've decided that this cause won't have a limited time offer. Please SHARE this so your friends and family will know too! Can’t wait to gift a family with these memories that can’t be replaced or taken away!
And fellow photographers, please think about participating in the Olivia act too.

Her grandmother would nap in the afternoon and that is when Sarah would go down to the water and collect rocks and beach glass. She would sit and paint the rocks for something to do on those lazy summer days. Her Grandmother's house is still in her family and now she enjoys taking her children down to that same beach to collect an amazing collection of beach glass and gorgeous black rocks. She has always done this type of arts and crafts and was surprised to find out that people would value her art in such a way. Anyone who who has seen her work, would be anything but surprised. She has a true natural talent.
As I watched Sarah work, I couldn't help but be in awe of her talent for finding proportion and of the smooth, careful strokes she used while working on different hand created fonts for her signage. Each piece she creates can take from a few minutes to quite a few days. She agonizes over each piece until she is satisfied.
The attention to detail and care that Sarah puts into her work makes it very easy to see why she is such a success. For more information on WordArtStudio or to order from her variety of items, visit http://www.etsy.com/shop/WordArtStudio
